A delegation of CAPSI attended a meeting convened by Shri Sanjeev Kumar Jindal Additional Secretary MHA at North Block. He told that government is planning to review the governance and compliance issues of the PSARA. He said that the his ministry is interested in addressing industry issues by making necessary changes in the rules and Act. CAPSI is tasked to make a comprehensive proposal to the MHA on the pain points of the industry. A detailed discussion was held where all issues related to renewal of licenses, police verification, GST, Arms Licenses, National PSARA licensing and timely payment by service takers and training of security guards. Delegates also raised the Maharashtra Guard Board issues.

Ms Kriti Garg IAS also attended the meeting. Sh Mahesh Sharma, Sh Vikram Mahurkar, Sh Anil Puri, Sh Sudhir Bhasin, Brig Baldev Singh and Ms Lydia participated in the discussions. Meeting was also attended by Sh Gurcharan Singh of SAI, Sh Namesh Dave & Ashwani Kaushik of RRU, Sh G B Singh & Ashutosh Jha of FICCI. For the many years CAPSI have been insisting MHA to consider making amendments in the Private Security Agencies Regulation Act . We suggested the there is need to make basic changes like setting up multiple member National Regulatory Board and State Regulatory Boards where due representation should be given to the CAPSI and other stakeholders.
