CAPSI and Joint Security Innovation Centre to Set up “ City Security Councils in partnership with State Police”

The inaugural meeting of the Task Force on City Security Council took place today at the Constitution Club of India, marking a significant step towards enhancing urban safety in India. The Task Force, headed by Sh Anil Pratham IPS (R), former DGP of Gujarat, was constituted under the Joint Security Innovation Centre with the aim of evolving a robust National Citizens Security Culture.

The meeting brought together esteemed members including Lt Gen Ashok Shivane, Sh Bhagwan Shanker IAS (R), Sh Mahesh Sharma, Secretary General of CAPSI, Sh Sudhir Bhasin, Vice President, Lt Col Kumar Vikram Singh CPP, from DPWorld, Col Deepak Dadhwal CPP of Times Group, Sh Sanjay Shishodia of Hero MotoCorp, Col Puneet Salhotra CPP of Shiv Nadar School, Ms Rinku Lamba, Executive Director, Capt Allroy Collaco Director Projects and Ms Lydia Lipcha, Manager of Projects Attended the meeting. Sh Harvindra Singh CPP of Kyndryl is also member of the TF.

During the session, participants discussed strategic initiatives and collaborative efforts needed to address urban security challenges, with a focus on fostering a safer environment for citizens across the nation.

It was decided to set up CITY SECURITY COUNCILS at all metro cities pan India. The CSC shall be constituted in partnership with District Police , Private Security and Industry Associations, RWAs and NGOs. The Task Force is set to play a crucial role in steering policies and innovative solutions for public safety and security in urban areas.

It was also decided to invite corporates to support this initiative as partners.
